A Modesty Issue at Work

Question

I am a salaried employee working for a Haredi employer.
During one of the work meetings with various parties, I began to say something that my employer did not want me to say, so he gave me a small step on my foot to signal to me to stop the sentence...
Is this a reason to get up and leave the job immediately?
In my opinion, he is not even aware of what he did...
And in general, throughout the entire period of my employment, he says things that should not be said between an employer and an employee...
For example: so-and-so got her period, so she did not come to work;
so-and-so is in early pregnancy and has hormones, etc.

Answer

Hello and blessings.

If, in your opinion, he did not notice what he did, you should draw his attention to the matter and say something along these lines: “Perhaps you did not notice that you touched my leg while I was speaking. This is absolutely unacceptable to me; I am a woman who observes the mitzvot.”

The same applies to the other problematic statements: simply say clearly, “I am not interested in discussing this.”

If it was truly a lack of attention, he should stop immediately.

If you see that he continues, this will show that he is creating this type of conversation deliberately, and it is certainly appropriate not to continue working in such a manner.
