Shopping During the Nine Days
Question
I have several questions about the Nine Days:
1. I ordered pants for my husband from Next a few weeks ago. They arrived a week ago, but I did not manage to pick them up before the Nine Days. May I pick up the package now so that it will not be returned abroad, and also because it contains socks that my son needs? (new clothing)
2. My son’s bar mitzvah is on the 15th of Av. May I buy a dress during the Nine Days so that I will not be under pressure after Tisha B’Av? (new garment)
3. Is it permitted to buy new glasses for a 7-year-old girl during the Nine Days?
