Clearing pallets on Chol HaMoed
Question
Is it permitted on Chol HaMoed to move pallets of books that are located in a private place, if I promised the building committee that I would clear them by the end of the festival?
Answer
Shalom u’verachah
Even exertion that is not melachah is forbidden on Chol HaMoed.
Therefore, if you have the option of postponing the clearing without incurring any loss, you must postpone it. But if some loss will result from the matter, you may clear them on Chol HaMoed.

מי שיש לו סחורה שאם לא יהפכנה ממטה למעלה תתקלקל, מותר להפכה בחה"מ. — One who has merchandise that, if he does not turn it from bottom to top, will spoil, may turn it over on Chol HaMoed.
