Buying Shoes for a Bride on Chol HaMoed

Is it permissible to buy shoes on Chol HaMoed for the needs of the festival?
We have an engagement celebration, and the bride’s sister does not have shoes. Is it permissible to buy them in a store that is part of a chain of stores that is open as usual on Chol HaMoed?

The ruling of our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried shlita:
It is permissible to buy games, bicycles, jewelry, and clothing for the needs of the festival. However, if the store is not open in accordance with halachah, as stated above, it is forbidden to buy there.
