Gave Charity for a Specific Purpose and the Plan Was Canceled

Hello, if someone gave charity for the purpose of building a mikveh and in the end the plan was canceled and the money he donated was returned to him, what should he do with the money?

Answer

Hello,

The money that would have been donated anyway should be donated again for a similar purpose. However, money donated only because the donor knew the fundraiser and not for the purpose itself can be kept by the donor and he is not obligated to donate again.
