Giving More Than Tithe

Question

Is there a reason to be meticulous about giving exactly a tithe and the rest as charity, or if you are certainly giving more, is it okay and there's no need to calculate? If possible, sources. Thank you very much.

Hello,

According to what is explained in the book Ahavat Chesed, there is a reason to be meticulous about the tithe and to stipulate that anything beyond that will be charity.
