Payment for a Course That Was Not Completed
Question
Hello,
I went to a makeup course of 5 lessons, plus a private personal meeting with the makeup artist, plus accompaniment and consultation even after the course,
valued at NIS 10,450.
Before the last lesson, the second girl who was studying with me asked to move the day,
and the makeup artist agreed to move it by two weeks, on condition that it not be moved again.
I was afraid that in the end, at the last minute, I would not be able to make it and would lose out, so I asked that they not move it.
In the end, the makeup artist decided that she was moving it for the other girl, and that I would not come, even though I did not agree to this.
She wants to refund me the value of the lesson, which is NIS 2,090.
But this lesson was very important to me, and along with it I also lost the consultation and accompaniment afterward, which are very important—even more than the course itself—and also the personal meeting with her.
And I feel that I am losing much more than the value of one lesson.
In the meantime, I canceled the checks for most of the amount that I had given her in advance.
And I want to know whether I really need to pay her for everything except the last lesson?
Thank you very much!

Answer
A. The answer in matters of monetary law is not binding, since both sides have not been heard.
B. According to what you write, it is clear that you must pay for the entire course except for the last lesson, and the teacher must make up the lesson for you and provide you with the accompaniment that was promised.
