Kashering a Sink and Countertop

Hello and blessings. With God’s help, I am moving into a rented apartment where a secular Jew or a non-Jew lived before me. I want to kasher the countertop and the only sink in the kitchen (kashering the kitchen). What must be done in order to kasher them? In addition, what must one be careful about and take care to avoid when there is only one sink? Thank you very much.

The countertop does not require kashering; it is sufficient to clean it thoroughly.
A sink made of ceramic absorbs through the pouring of boiling prohibited substances, through washing dishes with boiling water, and also through soaking prohibited food for 24 hours. Since it is ceramic, kashering is not effective for it. Therefore, one must be careful not to soak utensils there for 24 hours, and not to wash utensils there with boiling water.
