Yom Kippur Fast — Pregnancy via IVF

Question

Hello and blessings,
My wife, thank God, will be in week 13 of pregnancy on Yom Kippur. This is a pregnancy following in vitro fertilization (IVF). In the past she had two miscarriages, and after them three pregnancies that were defined as high-risk pregnancies, during which she was instructed on Yom Kippur to drink fluids in shiurim.
At present her hemoglobin is 12.
The new doctor said that she does not see a need to forbid her to fast, and that she should fast as usual unless she feels unwell. In practice, it is hard for us to know what is considered “feeling unwell,” because fasts are always difficult for her.
What should she do on Yom Kippur?

Answer

Hello and blessings

The response of our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried shlita, in consultation with a physician:

She must fast.

An instruction sheet for fasting during pregnancy is attached.
