Yom Kippur Fast — Pregnancy After Cholestasis

Question

I will be 9 weeks pregnant (on Yom Kippur). In a previous pregnancy there was bleeding in week 6, and from week 34 there was cholestasis, and delivery was by C-section after induction and full dilation that did not progress to delivery. I sometimes have nausea, and occasional vomiting. May I fast normally?

Answer

Shalom u'vrachah

The response of our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried shlita, in consultation with a doctor:

You need to fast.

Attached is an instruction sheet for fasting during pregnancy.
