Is it permitted to buy a 12-year-old child his first pair of glasses during the Nine Days?

Answer

Hello and blessings, 

If there is a need, it is permitted. Glasses are not a garment, but a medical accessory. 

However, if it is not necessary, it is proper to postpone it until after the Ninth of Av.
