Working with Computers during Chol Hamoed

I work with computers and might need to work one day during Chol Hamoed. Is it permitted? In what manner?

If according to the work conditions, it is unavoidable, it is permitted to work.
One should try to take vacation days or similar to avoid working during Chol Hamoed.
