Programming Work during Chol Hamoed

Hello Rabbi, I studied programming, and while searching for a job, I was asked by a certain workplace to prepare a homework assignment to submit at a job interview, and based on that, they assess my skills. The submission date is a few days after Passover, a time frame that won't be enough for me to complete the assignment. Can I work on it during Chol Hamoed?

It is permitted in such a case, as there is a loss involved.
