The Mishnah Berurah writes: "כתבו הספרים דטוב לעשות ביום שני (היינו, א' דחוה"מ) בסעודה איזה דבר לזכר סעודת אסתר, שביום ההוא נתלה המן" (The books write that it is good on the second day—that is, the first day of Chol HaMoed—to do something during the meal in memory of Esther’s feast, for on that day Haman was hanged).
