Tithing on dollars
Question
A long time ago I received a gift of “dollars.” How do I separate maaser on them? I don’t remember what they were worth at that time. Can I now give maaser in money according to the current value of the dollar, or do I need to give the maaser specifically in dollars?

There is no need to calculate how much it was worth then; you may pay according to its current value, or according to the value at the time you redeem the amount into shekels.
You may give either in shekels or in dollars.
