Ma'aser Funds for Parents?
Question
Is it advisable for a young woman who works but lives in her parents’ home
to donate her ma'aser funds to her parents (who need it, as they are marrying off children),
while she regularly uses their money (food, clothing, and in fact almost everything),
and thereby, seemingly, is using her own ma'aser funds?

Answer
Shalom u'vrachah
Giving tzedakah to one’s parents is the highest level of tzedakah, and one is obligated in it not only as tzedakah but also as part of honoring one’s parents.
There is no drawback whatsoever in the fact that the daughter also, so to speak, uses these funds. On the contrary, that is a reason for her to have an even greater obligation to give what she can.
