Desecrating Shabbat for the sake of an ill person

Question

Hello, honorable Rabbi,

A patient hospitalized in intensive care abroad, in serious condition, is forced to remain alone in the hospital on Shabbat. Is he permitted to press the nurse call button when he feels the need to do so?

Hello and blessings

It is permitted, under the law of the needs of a dangerously ill person.

It is preferable that he press it in an unusual manner, if possible.
