Operational travel on Shabbat

Shalom,
I am serving in reserve duty under the Home Front Command, in operational defense activities.
My commander asked me to be available by phone this coming Shabbat and, if necessary, in case of an emergency call-up due to the war, to drive my car to the base.
Is this permitted?

Shalom u’vracha
In any situation of concern for pikuach nefesh (danger to life), it is a mitzvah to desecrate Shabbat.
If it is clear that there is no pikuach nefesh and it is only preparation or an exercise, it is forbidden.
