Applying Ointment on Shabbat
Question
My daughter has very serious wounds in the diaper area, and the doctor prescribed medicinal ointments. Is it permissible to apply them on Shabbat?

It is forbidden to apply ointment on Shabbat, but you may place it in several spots and let it spread on its own. If that is not sufficient, it is permitted to apply it with a change, such as using the back of the hand.
