One who is forbidden by vow to derive benefit from a shofar
Question
BS"D
If he said, “Konam, a shofar is forbidden to me,” the Mishnah Berurah, se’if katan 24, says that even hearing the shofar blowing from someone else is forbidden. The question is: Why is this not considered shev ve’al ta’aseh, passive inaction, and that he is hearing it against his will? Or must he leave the place where they are blowing the shofar?

Answer
Shalom u’verachah
Since he wants to hear it and derives benefit from it, this is not considered shev ve’al ta’aseh.
He cannot remain there and say that he is compelled, since he is able to leave.
