Mezuzah in the Stairwell
Question
When affixing a mezuzah in the stairwell, should one recite a blessing?
Answer
If the lobby has an area of 2.32 by 2.32 meters, one should affix it with a blessing, as in the case of a shared courtyard. If not, it should be affixed without a blessing. If the upper floors have four cubits but the lobby does not, it should be affixed without a blessing, as these are four cubits in another domain.
