Who is preferable to proofread mezuzot

Can a Sofer STaM proofread new mezuzot, or must it be done specifically by a proofreading expert?
Answer
There is an advantage to a proofreading expert because he is more attentive to issues that a regular Sofer might overlook, as he is trained to identify problems and is better versed in the laws related to defects.
