Children in a House of Mourning
Question
Greetings and blessings, is it permissible to bring children to a house of mourning? And what is the law regarding children and grandchildren who come to comfort their grandfather who is in mourning?
Answer
Greetings and blessings
It is permissible to bring children to a house of mourning.
A mourner is forbidden to hold an infant in his arms, because it distracts him from the mourning. [However, in the case of a parent who needs to care for the infant, it is permitted.]
