Thanking on a Women's Forum

Sometimes I find myself corresponding with women on forums about content-related matters. Is it permissible for me to click the thank you button?

One should be cautious when corresponding with women, to avoid drifting into non-technical topics.
It is permissible to thank for assistance in a polite manner, but not in a personal way.
