The Length of the Wig
Question
I asked regarding the length of a wig,
and I received an answer: up to the shoulder,
[I cannot continue asking there, since it is blocked by NetFree;
someone sent me a screenshot of the answer.]
I would be happy if sources could be added,
since this is not Dat Moshe but rather Dat Yehudit, and the determining factor, seemingly, is the custom,
and it is difficult to say that the custom regarding the length of a wig has remained as it was when they established it about 20 years ago,
when we see with our own eyes that many fine people wear it a few centimeters beyond the shoulder line.
My intention is not to be provocative, but since the challenge is so great, why not permit what seemingly is truly permitted?
Is it because they do not want to, or because there is not enough strength to change what all the great rabbis ruled in the past?

“Dat Yehudit,” which depends on custom, applies only to something that does not have an inherent lack of modesty. Something that, by its very nature, is contrary to modesty is not helped by the fact that the entire world may act otherwise.
Since long hair that is not gathered up is contrary to modesty, the fact that many stumble in this matter will not help to permit what is forbidden.
