Drinking Coffee in a Secular Office

Question

I would like to drink coffee in a secular office,
what things do I need to check?

Answer

Shalom u’vrachah

One should check whether the cups have been immersed in a mikveh, and whether they are used only for drinking coffee or also for other foods and drinks without supervision. With a disposable cup, there is no issue.

One should check whether the teaspoons have been immersed in a mikveh, and whether they are used only for coffee or also for other foods and drinks without supervision. With a disposable spoon, there is no issue.

One should check whether the kettle has been immersed in a mikveh as required by halachah. With a built-in institutional hot-water urn, there is no issue, because even if the heating element was made by a non-Jew, the actual installation is generally done by a Jewish company.

One should check the kashrut of the milk.
