Absorption in Pickling in Sour Food
Question
A lemon that was cut with a dairy knife and left in a meat utensil, are the utensil and lemon forbidden?
Answer
Only if it remained for more than 24 hours, despite being sharp, the Mishnah Berurah (Siman 447, Se'if Katan 71) ruled like the Shach in Yoreh De'ah 105 (Se'if Katan 2) that sharpness does not affect pickling except in salt.
