I cut garlic with a meat knife and then crushed it in a mortar. Is it permissible to crush garlic in this mortar for a dairy dish (it was not used within the day)?

Hello,

A sharp item enhances and strengthens the taste even in a utensil that has not been used within the day.

Therefore, this mortar should not be used for crushing garlic intended for a dairy dish.
