Kashrus Question: Dairy in Meaty Microwave

Question

Milchik blintz warmed up for 1 minute in clean fleshik microwave not used in 24 hrs. What are the blintzes & can we kasher the microwave?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

Although the actual blintz is muttar to eat, it appears to me that 1 full minute in a microwave may have cause “yad soledes bo” heat and possible steam. If that is the case the microwave must be koshered.

It can be koshered by cleaning it out well, letting it sit for 24 hours, and then boiling waters in the microwave for 15 minutes to ensure steam gets everywhere.
