Filling a Coffee Jar - Immersion of Utensils

Question

Shalom to the honorable Rabbi,

Is it permitted to transfer coffee from one glass container to another glass container, when both are half full? Is this considered a new use that requires immersion of utensils, or perhaps it is a continuation of use of the same utensil, and even though it extends the use, is it permitted as long as the original contents have not been emptied?

With blessings and thanks

Answer

Shalom u’vrachah.

It is forbidden to fill coffee into a jar that has not been immersed, even when some of its original contents remain.

It is permitted to use the coffee that was purchased together with the jar initially, and there is no need to empty the coffee and immerse it before use.
