Working on Tisha B’Av
Question
Shalom,
I work in a secular workplace where people work as usual on Tisha B’Av.
I would appreciate knowing whether I am also permitted to work, or whether I must take a day off.
Also, is there a difference between working before midday and after midday?
Thank you

Answer
From the words of our teacher, Rabbi Amram Fried shlita:
One must take a day off, unless this will cause damage to the employee/employer/client [and it is preferable that he work after midday]; however, loss of profit is not considered damage.
