Diarrhea at the Beginning of the Fast
Question
My husband has already had several episodes of diarrhea at the beginning of the fast. How should he proceed with the rest of the fast?
Answer
If he becomes weak to the point of being considered ill—meaning he has to lie down or is suffering throughout his whole body—he is exempt from fasting, and he may eat and drink normally.
