Definition of Low Hemoglobin During Fasting

My wife is not pregnant, but her hemoglobin was 10.9 five months ago and now it's 10.4. Iron was 27 five months ago, now it hasn't been checked. Ferritin was 2.8 five months ago, now it hasn't been checked. The family doctor gave her an iron infusion, scheduled for next Wednesday (after Tisha B'Av), and generally she feels weak. Should she fast in this condition?

According to the instructions of our teacher, the Rabbi, if the hemoglobin level is above 10, one should fast. Provided that one feels well and health is stable.
