Taking the Lulav in the Sukkah When It Is Raining
Question
When rain is falling at a rate that exempts one from sitting in the sukkah, is there any significance to taking the lulav in the sukkah?
Answer
Shalom u’verachah
Since one cannot recite the blessing of leishev basukkah while rain is falling, it appears that it does not have the status of a “sukkah,” and consequently there is no advantage to taking the lulav in the sukkah at that time.
