Taking medications on a fast day
Question
(This refers to the fast of Gedalya, one of the fasts instituted by the prophets.)
I’m fasting today and I need to take a pill some time during the day. Can I take it with water to help me swallow?
Answer
If you can swallow without water – this is what you should do. If you can’t, take water, but make sure to put some salt or some tea brew in it, so that you won’t enjoy drinking it.
