Taking Medication During a Fast

I take regular medication and need water to swallow it. What should I do during a fast?

Hello Rabbi,
Anyone who takes medication due to illness is exempt from fasting on the Tenth of Tevet and other rabbinic fasts.
If you are healthy and taking medication, you should try to swallow it without water if possible. If you must have water to swallow, prepare slightly bitter water, such as with tea essence, and swallow the medication with it. If that is not possible, swallow with regular water.
