Advancing the Bar Mitzvah
Question
My son will have his Bar Mitzvah on Friday. Can we hold the Torah reading ceremony on the preceding Thursday?

A hearty hello and many congratulations!
May you merit to raise him to Torah, marriage and good deeds! One should not ascend to the Torah before the day of the Bar Mitzvah. However, it is possible to postpone the Bar Mitzvah to a more convenient day, but he should start putting on the Tefillin starting on Friday.
