Torah Reading at Noon

Question

Hello, we want to arrange a Torah reading for our son. It is most convenient for us in the afternoon and the Gabbai says he has no problem with it. Is this permissible?

Answer

Hello and many congratulations!
The Torah reading should ideally be done with the morning prayer. However, if there are ten people who have not heard the Torah reading in the morning, it is permissible to read it in the afternoon. Nevertheless, it is appropriate that the Bar Mitzvah boy on his big day should pray in the morning in a minyan and ascend to the Torah within the framework of the morning prayer.
