Daniel 9:25-26 and the return of The Messiah

Question

In Daniel 9:25-26, the angel Gabriel told the prophet Daniel that Messiah the Prince would come before the destruction of the city and the sactuary (which happened in 70AD). He says The Messiah will be cut off (killed), but not for Himself (reminds me of Isaiah 52:10-53:12). He even gives a cryptic code for exactly when the arrival would be (see Dr Chuck Missler's "Daniel's 69th Week"). If The Messiah was to die, but not for Himself, then how can He rule forever over the whole world, and having seemingly Divine characteristics (e.g. Isaiah 9:6-7, Micah 5:2, Daniel 7:13-14 & v27). The end of Isaiah 53 seems to indicate His life is prolonged after having died for the sins of others, and Zechariah 12:10 seems to indicate that God Himself was pierced but then switches to a difference person (seemingly) that will be mourned over.
