Taking Antibiotics — Fast of Tisha B'Av

Question

A woman started taking antibiotics (Augmentin) today due to a bacterial infection in her intestines. The bacteria has been present for two weeks and the doctor said she must start treatment. She is very weak. What should she do regarding the fast?

Answer

Shalom and complete recovery to you!
She should begin the fast and take the pill with a little water. If she feels unwell during the fast, she should stop fasting.
