Writing the Name of God by Mistake

B'SD I wrote in a mezuzah [Shema] Yisrael, but instead of the 'Sh' of Yisrael, I wrote 'H' (separated, as is customary when writing the Name of God), but I don't think I sanctified the Name of God - is it permissible to erase the 'H'?

I forwarded the question to our teacher, the Gaon, Rabbi Amram Fried, shlita, and he ruled that it is permissible to erase.
