Reserving a Seat for Someone Not Present
Question
Is it permissible for a student to reserve a seat in the yeshiva for another student?
Answer
According to the customary practice in the place, this does not involve the issue of occupying a place for another, as it is not considered an acquisition, such as opening a book on a stand, etc. The decision in this matter is made by the yeshiva administration or according to the customary practice in the place.
