Sponsoring Torah Learning: Halachos and Requirements

Question

What are the halachot of sponsoring Torah learning, and where are they discussed? Does the learning need to be a specific type to qualify for sponsorship? I am asking about sponsorship specifically, not tzedakah or a matanah.

Answer

Thank you for your question.

The halachos of supporting Torah learning are discussed in the Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De’ah, Siman 246:

There is no specific type of Torah learning that qualifies, as long as they are learning Torah, such as Gemara, halacha, mussar, etc.

If you are interested, I added a file of the Yissachar–Zevulun document agreement that you can arrange with someone who is learning Torah.

Wishing you well and much hatzlacha.
