Refund for Defective Popsicles
Question
As the person responsible for Avot Ubanim in the synagogue in our neighborhood, I buy sweets for the children for Shabbatot, and during the summer I usually buy popsicles, which are considered desirable.
I try to obtain a donation of 120 shekels per Shabbat from one of the congregants, for a mazal tov, for the elevation of a soul, and the like.
This past Shabbat, an avrech donated 120 shekels to me and transferred it to my account.
This past Friday, I bought 9 packages of watermelon popsicles that were on sale.
I distributed all of them on Shabbat, but the children, as well as my family members for whom I also bought some, complained that the popsicles had lost their original shape and apparently had melted and been refrozen.
Yesterday I contacted the Nestlé company and told them what had happened, and they credited me with 50 new ice pops.
To whom do the popsicles belong?

The refund belongs to “Avot Ubanim.”
Since the popsicles belonged to them, the refund also belongs to them.
