Tzedakah – a woman's promise

Question

I was supposed to receive a certain sum of money and I promised (I said bli neder) to give 10 percent of the amount to tzedakah, without my husband's prior consent. Baruch Hashem, the money has come in; am I obligated to give it?

Answer

Shalom u’vracha 

The obligation has taken effect, and you must give that amount to tzedakah.
