Genizah of Old Tzitzit

Question

An old tzitzit that is no longer in use, does it need to be placed in genizah? If so, where?

Answer

Hello Rabbi

There is no obligation to place an old tzitzit in genizah, as it is not considered 'sacred objects' but 'objects of a mitzvah'.

It can be wrapped in a bag and thrown away. However, it can also be placed in genizah.
