Aliyah to the Torah during the Shiva
Question
During the seven days of mourning, can one receive an aliyah in the synagogue on Shabbat if a son is born or on a yahrzeit?
Answer
He may receive an aliyah to the Torah, because if he does not in this case, it is considered public mourning.
