Removing a Hairband from a Braid on Shabbat

Question

Is it permissible to remove the hairband from a braid on Shabbat?

Answer

If you only remove the hairband and the braid opens by itself, it is permitted.

Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, Siman 303, Se'if 23. This is not considered dismantling.
