Lighting Shabbat Candles in the Kitchen
Question
Is it permissible to light candles in the kitchen when they are not visible from the living room?
Answer
If, when the light goes out, the candles will also illuminate the living room, it is permissible. If not, one can fulfill the obligation in the kitchen after the fact.
