Filming Abuse on Shabbat

Dear Rabbi, I grew up modern orthodox but I became less observant over time. Since my brothers wedding last summer, he became more frum I have become more interested in exploring my heritage. However, growing up I remember a few times witnessing parents (family friends) on Shabbat physically abusing their children. I am vulnerable myself so would it be permitted for me to carry a phone on Shabbat to record this eveidence go send to the police.

It is so wonderful that you want to re-connect with Torah and mitzvot, particularly with observing Shabbat.

I totally understand how you would feel about parental abuse. However , there would be no justification for you to carry a phone on Shabbat and to record such things.
